One of the barristas at the coffee shop I write at was just on a cruise and some guy was hitting on her and asking her what she did. She felt uncomfortable telling him, so she told him "I write semi-erotic science fiction under the pseudonym Zak Zyz." Apparently the guy bought it, got really excited and said he was going to buy and read all of her books.

I was cracking up when she told me. I've now hit the stage in my career where people assume my identity to evade unwanted advances. Here's to new sales, however they come.
